GE: GTWN5050MWS 4.3 IEC cu. ft. stainless

I bought this washer to replace a Kenmore combo washer dryer. I tried to fix the washer (it stopped spinning and started to leak water, source unknown. I replaced the timer myself, but the water still leaked. Kenmore is built almost like a car; just to get to one area you need to dismantled almost the whole darn thing and I didn’t want to call a repairman. The timer plus s&h cost $156, so I through in the towel and bought this washer. I am amaze that people don’t understand or read instructions. First of all, it works with any detergeants. Maytag would rather you use what they recommend, but hello! if it’s not available, use what you have. Second, if you go mud racing don’t expect any washing machine in the world to get your clothes white, not even using clorox according to instructions will get them white again. Buy new clothes. In summary, add detergeant, add clothing, select the washing cycle, extra rinse if necessary, fabric softner, water temperature General Electric GTWN5050MWS and there is an extra clean option if you want to select. Close the lid, press the button and walk away. If you want to cry after all of this, call someone who cares! The new no agitator technology washing machine works for me.

KitchenAid Architect Series II 36″

We just finished renovating our kitchen and needed something that was as low profile (so it wouldn’t rest on the top of the oven)and would fit what was left of our Architect Series II KECD866RWW meager budget. They had this unit at our local Lowe’s but at hundreds more on the price. It arrived in the promised time. It looks great on our dark granite counters and cleans up in a snap. This is our first time with one of these and so far we would have no problem recommending them to someone else. I would prefer capacitive touch controls so there were no obstacles or any breaks in the surface but at this price the nobs just come with the territory. I’m sure we will upgrade it in a few years to match the rest of the quality of our kitchen but it really is a pretty perfect budget option.

Electrolux : EIED55HIW 27 Electric Dryer Island White

Just got my new LG combo unit and loving it. We had to replace and relocate our existing laundry area, so rather than buy two units that take up space, and run all new ductwork for a dryer, we bought this. I was skeptical at first, but I am really loving it! The machine is full size, ample for my family of 4. It cleans very well and is super quiet compared to my old Whirlpool. Pros: Saves space, easy installation, energy efficient, you can have your clothes washed a dried for you when you arrive home from work. Cons: You need to play with the dryer a bit to find the right amount of time needed; at first they feel wet, but it’s mostly just steam-if you give it a minute to cool off they are dry. Takes a long time.
I will caution that I typically line dry my heavier items i.e. denim, sweaters, etc. So I typically pull them out before the dry cycle begins. If you typically put all your clothes in the dryer, this may not be for Electrolux EIED55HIW you.

Fanimation FPD8087BA Landan Bronze Accent

So, no matter how energy efficient that fan is, I just can’t stand the loud buzzing. We have standard 8-ft ceilings so we purchased the short rod so it wouldn’t hang down too low, but that proved very difficult to install (things just don’t fit right with the short rod). I had to pay an electrician $150 to install it for me, and even he had a difficult time installig it. At one point he was about to give up saying the parts just didn’t fit, but after one last push we finally were able to get the rod pins into the rod. However after he installed it we noticed the loud constant buzzing. Emerson customer support admitted that this was not an uncommon problem, and at first said it was probably the receiver and offered to send me a new receiver (the small box inside the fan that receives commands from teh remote). But then later they said they had replaced receivers for other customers and the buzzing still continued, so they said they would send me an entire new fan. Fanimation FPD8087BA
